QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School Graduate or GED with a minimum of two years of post graduate study, or four years of Title I experience and a passing score on the Academic Assessment for the Title I Para Educators preferred
* CPR Certified and First Aid
* Demonstrate aptitude for fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities
* Must be able to make sound judgments and interact well with staff, students and parents
* Excellent communication skills
Job Goals
- Provide instructional, behavioral, and organizational support to the certified professional employee in the assigned classroom(s).
- Increase instructional time between teacher and student and decrease the student to adult ratio in the assigned classroom(s).
- Display a professional demeanor.
- Continually improve skills required of the assignment.
- Plan /Deliver instruction to students in Mathematics
- Maintain anecdotal notes /records of students
- Administer assessments: District Benchmark Assessments
- Assist with inventory and organization of Title I instructional materials.
- Plan and implement reading software programs in concert with the student’s individual skills and abilities.
- Provide tutorial support, based upon assessments embedded in the software, as appropriate.
- Communicate student’s areas of strength and areas for improvement to the classroom teacher.
- Monitor student progress by administering periodic assessments for the benefit of the student, his/her teacher, principal and the parent as a means of informing instruction.
- Assist in the planning and presentation of community mathematic workshops
- Assist in the gathering and dissemination of student data
